INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS 8th-10th June 2011: ACTIVE CULTURAL PARTICIPATION IN EUROPE


Open forum and research workshops at the occasion of the annual conferences of the Compendium experts and the Amateo network for active participation in cultural activities

Amateo kindly invites you to the annual congress that in 2011 will be held in Ghent, Belgium. Durig this congress we will focus on facts, figures and visions about active cultural participation in Europe.
Amateo has the possibility to hold this congress together with the meeting of the authors of the European Compendium for Cu
ltural Policies. This will give the participants the opportunity to get in contact with cultural experts from all over Europe. The combined meeting will also enhance the chances to gather knowledge about research and cultural policies from other European countries.

The Compendium brings together themes and issues from all the European countries. Each country profile addresses over 80 issues of cultural policy organized in chapters on historical developments, decision-making processes, main objectives, current policy issues, legal frameworks, cultural institutions and partnerships, funding provisions, support to creativity and participation. The compendium authors meet annually. Usually 30-35 authors/experts of the Compendium participate in the meeting.

This congress is hosted by Forum voor Amateurkunsten, Belgium
